The island of Crete is easily accessibly by both boat and airplane. The Heraklion Airport is the closest to Agios Nikolaos (65 km.). Local buses pass by the airport frequently during the day. Their journey takes about 80 minutes.

All major car rental companies have their offices in the airport. Taxis in the airport are available from about 50 Euros. There are daily boats from the port of Piraeus in Athens departing at 21:00 the previous evening and arriving in Heraklion port at around 0600. The Bus Station is directly opposite the port.A boat to Agios Nikolaos is also available but is not as frequent. The map shows where Bousoulas Apartments are in the town of Agios Nikolaos but follow these directions to come into the town to the apartments:

1. As you approach the town coming from Heraklion - at the first traffic lights - turn right towards Sitia.
2. Then at the next traffic lights turn left into the town.
3. Follow this dual carriage way road until you go over a small bridge
4. Once you come onto a one way system opposite an athletic shop on your left turn into a road on the right which is Ikarou Street.
5. Follow this road to the end to a junction and turning right onto Anapafseos Street, immediately we are the corner building.
